Community SAM Group

The Community Self-Advocacy Group is an independent group that focuses on discussing new topics, building independence, planning community events, and hanging out as friends. The members of the group will often take a vote to decide the plan for each meeting.
In the Community Self-Advocacy group, adults participate in events, discussions, and activities focused on boosting their communication, problem-solving, and social skills.

They are encouraged to express their needs, wants, and rights openly, and decide within the group on desired topics or activities. The group will also periodically plan fun community outings such as mini-golf or a movie night.

The Community SAM group operates independently from staff, but they may attend to listen in.
